Lumaegis' mission is to support global health security and to reduce the environmental impact of the disinfection and sterilization processes globally. Underlying the mission is our core value of meeting the basic need of humans - the desire to be secure and safe. Our core values, culture, and technology development experience that drives all we do. Our most novel attribute is the patented technology coupled with commercialization experience.
John Morreale, Dr. Sudhir Subramanya, and Matthijs Keuper are the entrepreneurial team who drove the LED revolution resulting adoption of LED lighting that reduced CO2 emission by 570M tons (DOE 2017). Founders have a proven track record of transforming innovation into affordable products and delivering them to market such as First LED TV 46” Sony Qualia, 2003; First LED Headlamp Audi R8, 2004; First LED Cellphone Flash, Apple 2007.
To compete in today’s world, we built a very diverse, synergetic and experienced group of professionals to help Lumaegis complete our product development and penetrate our target markets. Our consultants, all experts in their fields, bring knowledge in the areas of medical (Dr. Stephen Ezeji-Okoye), senior living (Rose Saenz), textile systems (Laura Mercurio), medical sales, and technology (Dr. Werner Goetz), rounding out the co-founders’ technology and new product introduction experience.
Likewise, our Healthcare Advisory Council brings us years of expertise in our target markets and healthcare environmental services, with unique access to the Department of Veterans Affairs and Medical and Oral care practitioners. In particular, the addition of Thomas Fitzgerald, another US Veteran, Dr. Camille Dixon, who specializes in geriatric oral healthcare, and Dr. Rodney E. Rohde, a Texas State University Regent, are key additions and contributors to our day-to-day activities. This team serves as our sounding board for product ideation, actual use conditions, and acts as the Voice of Customer, helping Lumaegis understand pain points, buying value chains and product fits.
Steam sterilizers take hours to sterilize, damage instruments over multiple cycles and can cause burn injuries. Also, they require steam-distilled/de-ionized water and significant amounts of electricity to operate and have become an increasing economic burden on oral and medical care. Lumaegis provides a novel device and method to sterilize surfaces, medical and dental instruments in a fast, efficient, thorough, and cost-effective manner.
Sterilization market growth is driven by the rising incidence of healthcare acquired infections and growing number of surgical procedures. In year 2024, North America Healthcare Sterilization SAM is $3B, with a 5 year SOM of $353M, and a 8% CAGR. Specifically, dental sterilization is growing due to prevalence of periodontal diseases, the rising need for cosmetic dentistry, number of dental procedures, and the threats of cross-transmission.
